Just what L.A. needs

So maybe we should be glad were all not California girls or at least not these ones.

These commercials show how girls in L.A. are perceived. They aren’t very bright, they are obsessed about their insane diets and their appearance, and they are passing down their values to their children. The commercial wants you to think that by having a county fair that maybe, just maybe these girls can change into “normal” girls, or at least a little brighter. I mean come on we all know that cotton candy is defiantly not made from meat but from sugar and that you don’t get sweaters from cows.

Are girls that live in L.A. really like this or are they just perceived this way? They are learning the same things we do in elementary through high school. So why is it that they all act so dumb? It’s not just in these commercials either. Like we have seen in the Gretchen Wilson music video there is a certain stereotype about these California girls already set in our society. Do you think it is wrong to perceive girls from California this way? The media is getting the stereotype from somewhere, so there have to be more girls than just Paris Hilton and her friends that act and dress this way. Or is the media wrong in saying that the girls who live in L.A. live like this? If it is true than I think that the commercial is right in saying that the county fair is just what they need.

  1. I have no idea why a county fair would change ditzyness in california girls. As for the message it’s trying to convey, maybe a california girl wrote that commercial. it didnt convince me of ANYTHING, other than the fact that those girls were kinda cute.
i can see where the stereotype comes from b/c theres lots of girls from my high school just like that.

I think its not just a california thing, just the most rich and spoiled girls like that are there.
